Central Scotland

Just run through some of these great places to visit in Central Scotland. Gleneagles, Argyll, Perth, Blair Athol, Arbroath, Dundee, Pitlochry, Crieff, St. Andrews and Stirling! These are fantastic towns and villages joined up by some amazing roads. Great places to visit with majestic glens, pristine beaches and colourful fishing villages all dripping with culture and places to visit or see. Now add in the West Coast – Loch Lomond, Lochgilphead, Oban, Fort William, Tobermory, Inverrary, Tarbet. We are now talking about some of the greatest routes that can be mustered. Anywhere!

PRO TIP – if you have not visited Edinburgh before this is worth a full day of exploration. Park up and take a walk. You can always plan your trip so that Edinburgh is in the middle to give you a day off the saddle and good leg stretch.

Route 1 - The Dickie Bow
This route should be on everyone's bucket list. One of the greats. The word awesome is almost inadequate, it's got everything!

Approximate distance: 206 miles (331 km)
Approximate duration: 5 Hours 6 Minutes
Route 2 - The Kelpies Gallop
This little route is 100 miles of pleasure. Starts at the iconic Kelpies and of course right next to the Falkirk Wheel. Goes through some lovely villages and runs along a few unknown but beautiful lochs. Includes the Dukes Pass, a very, very twisty roller-coaster of a route through the forest between Aberfoyle and Kilmahog - an absolute treat!

Approximate distance: 101 miles (163 km)
Approximate duration: 2 Hours 59 Minutes
Route 3 - The Pincer
This route captures the heart of the Inland Highland. Both rugged and gentle. Remote and yet close. See some of the lesser named or known lochs but certainly not lesser in beauty.

Approximate distance: 160 miles (258 km)
Approximate duration: 4 Hours 52 Minutes
Route 4 - The Tartan Titan
Take this route as one of your best guides. Look at the roads that cut across it. If you have the time take them to. You will not regret it!

Approximate distance: 250 miles (402 km)
Approximate duration: 7 Hours 28 Minutes
